Henderson NV is well-known for its parks having won several awards including Playful City USA, Bicycle Friendly Community, and a Gold Medal from the American Academy for Park and Recreation Administration. With 58 neighborhood and community parks, 14 dog parks, 11 aquatic facilities, 8 recreation centers, and 6 skate parks, there’s something for everyone in Henderson.
The main event in Henderson is the Fourth of July Celebration at Mission Hills Park. Other events include Dive-In Movies at the Black Mountain Aquatic Complex (Despicable Me 2 on July 9) and Whitney Ranch Indoor Pool (Little Mermaid on July 17), and the Midnite Madness softball tournament on July 10.
